Customer requested a camera kit rental via email for specific dates. They confirmed specific elements were in the kit. They completed a credit card authorization form, got a short term COI and sent it to us, and signed off on the quote. The exchange was very easy and regular. They picked up the gear on September 12th, 2025. On September 15th, the requested an extension for the rental to September 19th and requested a small discount. I obliged. The next day, September 16th, they requested a second/B-cam for pickup that day, returning on Sept 19 as well. They picked up the second kit that day as planned. On Sept 19, no one showed up to return either rental. I called and left voicemails, which were never returned. On Monday morning (Sept 22), I had another show prepping in house with one of the cameras, I called and texted and emailed him started around 730am, over and over. He responded via text at approx 12:30 pm saying "sorry, we will bring it back tomorrow morning". I explained to him that that was not an option as this package was booked on another project. I texted and called him dozens of times and he did not respond until this morning at 830 am (Sept 23), saying that kits were "returned successfully" and that the "driver gave it back to an employee there" -- impossible since I was not at the shop yet, and neither was anyone else. Camera footage shows no vehicles at the building around that time, and nothing returned in error to any neighbours. After dozens more calls from multiple numbers, the phone number now returns a "this number is disconnected" message. Address on file is bogus, name is bogus, credit card is stolen.
